Kemp Laidley

President/Founder of Beyond the Bricks

Kemp is the founder of Beyond the Bricks.  He is a physical therapist and is a member of Samaritan’s Purse DART (Disaster Assistance Response Team). He and his wife Amy reside in Aledo, Texas.  They have three children, Laura Ann, Keaton, and Macie.

Mike Macko

Mike Macko is a physical therapist. He spent 25 years with Texas Health Resources as a Physical Therapist, Clinical Director for Sports Medicine, and mentor to numerous sports physical therapists and athletic trainers in the residency program.  He recently joined SandersFit Rehab & Therapy as their physical therapist, practicing in Fort Worth, Texas.  He and his wife, Brooke, live in Fort Worth, Texas, with their adopted son, Coleman.

Dave Petersen

Dave Petersen is a contractor/builder who lives in Soldotna, Alaska with his wife Trudy. Dave was instrumental to the rebuilding of the African Bible College, in Yekepa, Liberia following the devastation of the civil war there, working with Samaritan’s Purse. Trudy was an English teacher in Soldotna, Alaska, and has been to Yekepa many times, teaching English at the African Bible College. They have three children, Kirsten, Lucas, and Karina.

Kyle Jones

Kyle Jones is a Family Physician now residing with his family in Tulsa Oklahoma. He currently is working in private practice.  Up until 2021, he served with his wife and four children in Kapsowar, Kenya, where they lived for 11 years. Kyle and Vanessa have 4 children Hudson, Jude, Isaac, and Ariella.

Herb Cavenaugh

Herb Cavenaugh lives in Lewisville, Texas with his wife, Sally.  He has been a firefighter and paramedic, and currently is the Assistant Fire Chief in Carrollton, Texas. Herb and Sally have three children, Cody, Brad, and Kate.

Jeremy & Whitney Simons

Jeremy and Whitney Simons are missionaries with DOOR International, which they have served with for many years.  They have lived in Budapest, Hungary, and also lived in Kenya for eight years, serving in a suburb of Nairobi. Currently they are living in Northwest Arkansas, continuing their work with DOOR International. They have three children, Evan, Josiah, and Colin.
